Today we will talk about the five most striking and memorable finals in the discipline Counter-Strike 1.6 . Why these are these, and not others, you ask you? In one case, these are very tense, as they say, “validal”, games with a fantastic account, in another – the confrontation of the fundamental rivals. Everyone has their own unique story and their own highlight. Which – read below.
5th place: SK against Lag Blank on the Swedish qualifying to WCG 2008
And we begin with the final of traditionally spectacular Swedish qualifying on World Cyber Games 2008. Compatriots SK and LAG BLANK came together here.
Disposition
The favorites of the finals were unambiguously considered eminent SK (Allen, Walle, Tentpole, Robban, Zet), which have passed in the semifinals Begrip Gaming (16: 5 on de_inferno, 16: 1 on de_train), but the Swedish half -minute Lag Blank (Striker, Niko, Snajdan, Face, Gux) in 1/2, having overcome one of the best world teams of that time – Fnatic (16:12 on de_dust2, 16: 3 on de_train), created a loud sensation. There was a pass to the Grand Final at the stake, where the “forms” could declare themselves in a full voice. Than there is no reason to jump above the head?

Into battle!
The first card was De_Dust2, and it, as a rule, gives an advantage of the attacking side. The card is notable for wide and open passages, and the one who shoots better wins on it often. That is why many mixes, as well as teams without clearly worked out tactics, strive to play de_dust2 first of all. They showed themselves well at Dast and Lag Blank: Fnatic was beaten in the semifinals. But against scrap in the person of SK, the ambitious applicants did not find admission, and here is the defeat – 16: 9.
[Bullet]] former SK player, and in that tournament one of the Lag Blank leaders is Matias Andersen.
But on de_nuke, the first half unexpectedly easily won Lag Blank (11: 4). It would seem that after a break, SK will take a pistol round and begin to “distribute” frags to the right and left … However, the excellent game of Matias Andersen ( SNAJDAN ) brought the "form" victory here and here. The fate of the ticket to Cologne, to the world final WCG 2009 , should have decided on de_train.
And here the teams suddenly went almost flush. The first half ended with a score of 8: 7 in favor of SK, but in the main rounds the winner did not emerge (15:15). Overtime was waiting for us, three rounds for each side. At the end of the team literally clung to each other in the throat. 18:18, 21:21, 24:24, 27:27-it seemed to last forever: either Lag Blank 3: 0 and they are a step away from victory, then SK break forward and is not enough for a ticket to the Grand Final pairs of exact hits. Robert Dalstrom fantastically played in additional rounds ( Robban ) from SK – I put five at point A, then with AWP I stopped the attack of the "forms" on b. Christopher Nordlund ( TentPole ), in turn, in an important match, he correctly accepted the opponent of the opponent on the "greenery". Lag Blank tried all to one, but Rasmus steel ( Gux ) Thanks to the exact shooting, he was the first among equal.
[[Bullet]] player SK Robban – one of the main culprits of the triumph of his team over Lag Blank.
With each new overtime, the voltage increased, more and more people came to HLTV (intra -game broadcast), and meanwhile, it grew until 30:30, and this is a giant figure for CS discipline. It seems that at that moment SK “raised from sleep”: after the victory in three rounds in a row, they needed the last step. As you know, the most difficult thing ..
But the "forms" and then tried to intercept the initiative: Snajdan won the round for his team. Again "swing"? No! Already in the next match, Sk Gaming set all points over I in one of the longest and most intense games in the history of Counter-Strike 1.6 – 34:31.
By the way, the audience from the CIS, judging by the comments, was upset by this result: most supported Lag Blank. But on the world finals, SK reached the very last stage, where they lost to the Danes MTW.
4th place: Eye against Noa on CPL Winter 2004
On the fourth step is the confrontation of the Swedish five EyeBallers and the Norwegian-American team Noa (Novella, or Novella Alliance) in the final of the winter CPL 2004 in American Dallas.
Disposition
Even before the final, the paths of the teams crossed into 1/4 of the upper grid. Noa (Naikon, Shaguar, Xeqtr, Element, Method) confidently leading the entire match, but the Swedes complained that the opponent was using prohibited techniques (de_nuke at that time was full of bugs: it was worth, for example, to throw a “blind” grenade under a certain box, as it blinded, as it blinded The whole point is the whole). Many knew this, and Noa often cunning, but for some reason they were sure that their pranks would take their hands. Having examined the incident from all sides, the judges removed several rounds from the Norwegians and gave them to the guys Eye (Walle, Bullen, Guden, Archie, Vilden), and they brought the game to the victorious. The judicial verdict was in order to angry Noa, and they longed to take revenge in the final. But they, unlike Eye, needed to win two cards in a row, since they went to the final by the winners of the lower grid.
[[Bullet]] Swedish team EYE – champion of the summer CPL 2004 and one of the best teams of those times.
Into battle!
The first card was de_inferno. The Swedes began to defend, but could not win the first side (10: 5 in favor of Noa). After a change in the parties, the player Noa Lars Olaisen ( Naikon ), glorified by speeches for the Norwegian Eolithic , I took the most important pistol round for the team, and Noa went into the gap – 13: 5.
However, even losing two "economic" rounds, Eye did not bang. The Libra cup began to include in their favor thanks to the excellent game of the former Spixel member – Björna Valla ( Bullen ). Unfortunately, last year he passed away at the age of 26 due to a serious illness. We can now enjoy his game, we can now only in the record.
By the middle of the match, another Swede “turned on”, Olof Ekdala ( Archie ), and time after time I put two or three rivals. Frags of these guys mainly helped Eye close to noa (14:15). When there was only one round left before a draw, the outcome of the match once again decided individual skill: American Michael CO ( Method ) dealt with almost the entire Swedish team. Noa victory – 16:14 on the first map.
In the second batch of EyeBallers, on the principle of "wedge wedge" stubbornly chose the same card. They started for health: NOA attack on point A choked, and Shaguar I could not win the situation 1×3. It seemed that now the Swedes would correct past mistakes, but Noa took a chance and took the "digla" (jarg. – Pistol Desert Eagle), attacking the "greenery". The Swedes were not ready for such a turn and lost the second round. This puncture hit the team’s fighting spirit very painfully, which resulted in disputes and disagreements, and NOA, meanwhile, raced at all pairs to victory. The given eco-round was not the only failure of the Swedes, there were plenty of https://sister-site.org/spintime-casino/ mistakes in the game for protection again. The climax became the round when Gryffin Benger ( Shaguar ) In the corner under the carpets in large sands, he managed to clamp in a number of three defense players. After such a match, as a rule, you can’t win.
Having changed the side, Eye traditionally took the pistol, but again gave the “eco” – they were shot from the P228 pistol not familiar to the audience ( Xeqtr I bought it by mistake instead of "score"). This finally destroyed yellow-blue, and Noa won the remaining four rounds without problems. Victory with a score of 16: 5 – and Noa not only become champions of the winter CPL 2004 , but also receive a solid amount of $ 30,000.

3rd place: Estro vs Mym.PGS on ESWC 2008
In third place, the ESWC 2008 final is comfortable in the American San Jose-Koreans Estro (we have recently about them They told) against the Polish squad Mym.PGS (Meet Your Makers).
Disposition
In the semifinals of Koreans (Solo, Bail, Ari, Hee, Termi), Fnatic (09:16 on de_TRain, 16:10 on de_inferno, 22:18 on de_nuke) and were determined to find their first large world gold. Their rivals – Mym.PGS (Loord, Neo, Kuben, Taz, Luq), even then they were considered one of the strongest teams in the world and went to France among the main favorites. In their semifinal match, the Poles simply “did not notice” the Germans from mousesports (16:00 on de_train, 16: 7 on de_dust2).
That the finale would be tense, only the lazy did not predict, but reality exceeded all expectations: the Koreans understood that such chances (40,000 dollars and the title of world champion according to the version were at stake ESWC ) do not lie on the road, besides, they are used to fighting to the last.
[[Bullet]] “Golden Polish Five”, who then played for Meet Your Makers, is the most titled team in the history of CS 1.6.
Into battle!
Card de_DUST2 played the first. Oddly enough, the defense dominated this match. The Poles led from the first round (when Kuben And TAZ confidently accepted the "rash" on b). Koreans soaked the score only when it was baked 3-0, – Philip Kubski ( Neo in situation 1×3 managed to kill all opponents, but did not manage to cleanse the bomb. And when mym.PGS increased the gap to seven rounds (9: 2), the driven and wrecked Korean dragon suddenly showed fangs. As a result of “only” 15:14 in favor of mym.PGS, and in the air clearly smelled of a draw. But the Poles nevertheless got out, successfully conducting an attack through the center on b (4+1). It was not difficult to play the situation 2×5 competently. The first card for the Commonwealth!
The second de_nuke turned out to be particularly generous on beauty. Here Yakub Gurchzhinski in the first round kills three in nine, but Victor Voitas already ( TAZ ), sitting on a "booth", effectively shoots four Koreans. But the Koreans played so smoothly and harmoniously that even the personal exploits of the Poles of the weather did not make – 16:13 in favor of the Asians.
The fate of the championship and the title of the best team of the world was decided on de_tuscan, which is somewhat strange: the card at that time at a high level was not yet rolled up.
[[Bullet]] difficult ending of ESWC 2008 between MYM Poles.PGS and Koreans Estro.
The best Korean team began protection and lost an important pistol round on the move: the Poles took an attack on B and after a series of exchanges in a 1×1 Neo situation easily coped with Hee , Minored bomb. Further events repeated the traveled: two or three rounds taken by the Poles were one round of Koreans. With a score 9: 5 mym.PGS launched a slow attack through the center, but the Koreans were ready for this – Termi And Bail They quickly put three "gentry", but Neo and TAZ, having perfectly played a difficult situation, still took the round 2×3 round. Account 10: 5 in favor of mym.PGS.
Changing the parties, Estro again held a quick attack at point B in the pistol, but the Poles easily accepted it (Kuben, who shot three, played perfectly). The next four rounds of five also went to the piggy bank of Europeans, and only one round remained before the championship ..
But the Korean wounded dragon, as it turned out, slowly accelerates, but quickly flies: Estro began to take the round behind the round, successfully terrorizing point A. The gap was reduced, and with the score of 15:13 in favor of mym, the Poles were already frankly nervous and angry. It is not known how the events would not have developed, if they could not have a Joker composition: TAZ under the Flashka burst “on cats” and made –3 of Desert Eagle, and Kuben reached the last opponent. GG! And mym.PGS – champions ESWC 2008.

2nd place: Pentagram against NIP on WCG 2006
The “silver” shelf of our rating was occupied by the Polish-Swedish battle on WCG 2006 in Monz, Italy.
Disposition
Many spectators were remembered by this final by an unpleasant incident: the organizers did not provide the public with HLTV and forced everyone to watch an official stream. The quality of the Internet in 2006, as you know, could only envy the current standards, so the majority saw the fight only in the record.
Two giants of the then CS scenes met: Polish Pentagram G-Shock (TAZ, Kuben, Loord, Luq, TAZ) and Swedish NIP (INS, Zet, Robban, Walle, Spawn). What is noteworthy, the finale was played in essence on the street. Open -air fight and the light of spotlights, according to Dennis Valenberg ( Walle ), prevented the teams from seeing each other on dark cards.
[[Bullet]] Swedish NIP team in the style of the famous cartoon South Park.
Into battle!
The first map of the epic confrontation is de_nuke. The Poles started for counter -terrorists and quickly burst forward: the first half ended with a comfortable account of 10: 5. But after the shift of the parties, the Lukash Vesk computer hung ( Luq ) that hit the whole team from the rhythm. NIP did not fail to use this – 16:11. " Ninja in Pyjamas "(This is how nip is deciphered) in the series with a score of 1: 0.
The chance to recoup was Pentagram on de_inferno. The Poles again took an important pistol, but the Swedes in revenge selected Eco and broke into four rounds (5: 1). However, the Poles still turned out to be stronger and won with a score of 16:12.
The decisive de_train was one of the trump cards of the Polish five, and, starting to defend, they at first did not meet any resistance … until Dennis Valenberg won the fantastic round 1×5. It was like this: the Swedes flew at the closed point B with lightning speed, but on the lower descent the first four players “covered” Taz’s and the company.
[[Bullet]] Fantastic round 1×5 performed by Dennis Valelberg (Walle).
Dennis, one against the entire Polish team, went down to Verkh-Niz and struck the first victim there. Rising to b, he put the second opponent and took the bomb. Further, the technique is: the Swede in the zigzag will singles the Polish sniper and puts the bomb, while climbing the “sky”. The remaining two Pentagram players found themselves in a very difficult situation, because they had no idea where the enemy was hiding. One of them began to neutralize the bomb, and the second at that time looked around, trying to calculate the Swede. But alas – Walle Coldly took them both and entered his name in history. This moment, of course, is included in the ten best gaming moments in the history of CS.
[[Bullet]] famous Pentagram Poles (now representing the ESC team) in 2006 only began their victorious procession.
But heroically winning a battle does not mean winning a war. Even after the feat of Valenberg, experienced Swedes failed to get together and faded under the Polish onslaught. The first half ended with a score of 12: 3. Scandinavians urgently needed a victory in the pistol round – only she gave ghostly chances to catch up with the opponent. But the Poles on that day himself were not a brother. Having taken the necessary four rounds, they became world champions according to WCG 2006.
1st place: Natus Vincere against MTW on WCG 2010
And the upper line of our rating is the WCG 2010 final in Los Angeles-Ukrainians Na’vi (Zeus, Starix, CEH9, MARKELOFF, EdWARD) Against Mortal Team Work (Minet, Trace, Ave, Zonic, Sunde).
Disposition
2010 for the eminent Zhovto-clatter team became truly fabulous. Of the twenty -one tournament, Ukrainians won more than half! More precisely – twelve: IEM Global Finals 2010 , ESWC 2010 , Arbalet Cup Dallas etc. Therefore, they went to WCG in the rank of main favorites. Danes MTW , In turn, the national qualifying teams produced sensationally Full-gaming and got to the Grand Final only by a happy coincidence.
[Bullet]] Danish team MTW (Mortal Team Work) in 2010 over and over again inferior to Na’VI, but in the WCG 2010 final they finally presented a chance to repay for everything in full.
Into battle!
The first map of the final was de_inferno. "Born to win" began for the attack and took a pistol round on the move. The first half ended with a score of 11: 4-largely due to leaky protection of the Danes. The teams changed the parties, and the second pistols also went into the piggy bank of Ukrainians. It would seem that MTW is about to throw a white flag, but spite all skeptics of the Scandinavians took eco-round and brought the score to 12: 6.
Further, Hamlet's compatriots decided to shift the accents towards point B (perhaps Na’vi are not ready for such a trick?), but their attacks chopped over over and over again, and Natus Vincere escaped forward with a score of 16: 8. And in front – de_tuscan, one of the strongest maps of Ukrainians. Finita?..
On the second map, Ukrainians out of habit began the attack and won half with a score of 9: 6 (in principle, on Tuskan this is a good account for protection). The Danes conquered the first round and equalized the score, but Na’vi inflated the pace, constantly squeezing the zigzag and the small center. Danes who were not ready for timing arcades inferior to the round behind the round. Na’vi met every victory extremely emotionally; Arseniy Trinozhenko was especially floristed ( CEH9 ). 14:10 in favor of Natus Vincere and only two steps to the triumph ..
But MTW was not Digle Made: the Danes took several rounds in a row. In the archive for his team, Round Denny Sorensen ( Zonic ) took off three "navigers", and now the Danes already have a draw. Ukrainians, having lost such a tidbit advantage, gave the opponent to the opponent, it would seem, the second card won. 16:14 in favor of MTW and 1: 1 in the series.
Everything was decided on de_train. For the third time in a row in this final, Zeus and the company went out for the attack, but the pistol, unfortunately, lost. The “swing” began on weapons rounds, the teams took turns taking their rounds (which in the hands of Ukrainians playing for a weaker side). And the Danes could not establish the economy in any way, since Yegor Markelov constantly put them from AWP. The first half ended with a score of 9: 6 in favor of Na’vi, and at the beginning of the second Danes they again took a pistol – mirror display of the events of the last match. Snipers of Ukrainians brought the score to 13: 9, but Sunde with Zonic’om did not allow their mistakes. Draw – 15:15.
[[Bullet]] de_TRain-decisive third map of the Ukrainian-Data confrontation in the final WCG 2010.
The voltage in Los Angeles Convention Center reached the climax. The first overtime of the winner did not reveal – the teams were protected perfectly (3: 0 – 3: 0), and we were waiting for another set of additional rounds.
Na’vi began to attack and rushed to point B, the defense of which did not look particularly reliable. Convincing 3-0 in favor of Natus Vincere, and no one doubted that they would take their round for protection.
The Danes went wa-bank, making a false exit through the "greens", but most of the team vividly shifted to point B and put the bomb. Well, the call is accepted! Ivan Sukharev ( Edward ) and Yegor Markelov ( Markeloff ) perfectly knocked out the point and brought Ukraine the first gold in their history in the discipline of Counter-Strike 1.6!
