Synopsis
A grieving therapist starts telling his clients exactly what he thinks
Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge changes in people’s lives, including his own. share their character-defining moments in season one and reveal who has the best Harrison Ford impression. When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel, and Bill Lawrence were asked how they convinced Harrison Ford to be on the show, Segel said Goldstein originally wanted a “Harrison Ford type,” and I would audition people who looked like Ford. Segel told Goldstein that they should at least bring it to Ford first, thinking he would turn it down on the spot, but at least other people would know that Harrison Ford was a contender for the project, which would pique the interest of other big-name actors.
Jason Segel is perfect for this script
Eventually, Goldstein talked to Ford and sold him the role. Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince him, but he was elated nonetheless. Featured in WatchMojo: Top 10 Best TV Shows of 2023 (So Far) (2023). And the rest of the show is great too.
And Jessica is perfect
He has the weird, idiotic energy needed for this role. Her humor is perfect for the dialogue. This is the new way to portray situational drama. No real punchlines, just engaging personalities with a hint of weirdness and family circumstances that are just a little bit beyond normal, but still relatable.
You would immediately lose your license
Of course, Jimmy’s behavior as a therapist is completely absurd. Just impossible. But let’s allow metaphorical situations in drama. And in this script we feel a strong determination in the decisions.
For me it’s easy and fun
We have to give the writers the edge and try to capture the essence. Other reviewers, it seems, had a hard time.
