Synopsis
A serious theater director is tasked with restoring her former mentor’s most famous work, the opera Salome.
This is Amanda Seyfried’s second time starring in a film directed by Atom Egoyan, after Chloe (2009)

The reality turns out to be more tragic and complex than the opera’s plot
Or we could say that it’s a way of bringing in as much dramatic reality as the opera without distracting from the work they’re all doing.
I enjoyed it, even though the subject matter is difficult to watch at times
A director’s job can be exciting, and I really liked how, even though she was young, she developed it without thinking about herself, even when everyone was against her or everyone was trying to make fun of her and assuming that they were all part of something or someone and they knew better than her.
