Teenager Autumn Edison (Lumi Pollack) lives in New York with her father
Scenario
After years in New York, 14-year-old Autumn returns to the Amazon rainforest to save her childhood village and her beloved jaguar friend. A spiritual remake of Gilles de Maistre’s previous film Mia i Bijeli lav (2018).. They left their home in the Amazon jungle and her tribe after her activist mother was murdered 8 years earlier.
Her father hid letters from tribal relatives
Hunters, poachers, and others have devastated the land around them. As a child, Autumn befriended a jaguar she named Hope. There is only one jaguar left in the area, and it is being hunted endlessly.
Fearing that it is Hope, Autumn runs away from home in a desperate attempt to save her friend
He is followed by his agoraphobic science teacher Anja (Emily Bett Rickards), who tries to protect her student despite being completely miserable. This reminds me a lot of those old Disney movies with unrealistic characters, unrealistic situations, and unrealistic animals. At least the heart of this one is in the right place and some of the jungle locations are amazing.
She is meant for comic relief
When it comes to unrealistic characters, I am more encouraged by Disney’s attempt at making princesses. It’s ridiculous that they float down the river like a cartoon. I don’t really have a problem with Anja.
The Amazon situation is, to put it mildly, simplistic
The film is beautiful and enjoyable, but the faults outweigh the good parts.
