Ever since the Seagull days, I’ve been interested in everything related to the Sheridan name. Seeing what he’s capable of with his incredible scripts and past films, I have to admit that I’m a little disappointed after four episodes of Landman so far.
I don’t see the subplots as adding anything significant to the plot development
Maybe it’s because I had very high expectations with all the big-name actors, but also because after a wonderful adventure on a ranch, I’ve settled into a thriving city lifestyle. However, I feel like Sheridan has too much fun putting in pointless scenes with Tommy’s ex-wife Ali Larter and his larger-than-life daughter Michelle Randpolh, who was great in 1923.
The mother-daughter scenes together are very awkward, and I hate to say it, but Randolph is just overacting and I just can’t believe his acting
Sheridan is at his best when he puts his foot on the accelerator of an action drama, as seen in this second season of Special Ops: Lioness or all of his previous dramas. Knowing what he’s capable of is disappointing, but with only four episodes left I still have hope that he’ll use Jon Hamm more and that this show will take off.
I hope this isn’t another entertainment value project like Tulsa King, which turned into a comedy in season 2, interrupted by brief dramatic moments (I loved season 1)
I know Sheridan has his own organization and hosts so many shows, but I wish he would focus more on quality over quantity, because this show has the potential to be great if it’s serious.
