I was very suspicious because most modern remakes or prequels/sequels are just so bad. But now I was surprised.
The actress they cast does not resemble her and cannot say her lines correctly
It all started with the intro of the series, they did a very good job casting an actor to play young Dexter who could pass for the son. Actually all the characters are cast quite well except for the character “Deb”, she is quite awful.

They wrote her dialogue well, it is just that the actress does not say it with the right attitude or timing. That’s a bit of a digression, though, because it’s generally worth watching a few more episodes to see if they’re any good or not.
