Synopsis
The spirits of a deceased couple are haunted by an insufferable family who moves into their home and hires an evil spirit to exorcise them. This is Michael Keaton’s favorite movie. This is the case with Otho when he sprays the walls of the house, his shoes change from his red fireman elf boots to white boots as he walks through the bathroom, and then when he enters the next room, they change back to red elf boots. Beetlejuice: Ah. Well… I went to Juilliard… I graduated from Harvard Business School.
I travel a lot
I survived the Black Death and had a great time during that time. The Geffen Company logo is accompanied by a hideous version of the song Banana Boat (sung by the film’s composer, Danny Elfman). A copy of the film has surfaced with a few extra/alternate scenes.

This version of the film is about 2 minutes shorter than the theatrical release, has a few extra scenes and is missing others, is in black and white, and has a timecode at the bottom. This version has 4 major differences:

The scene where Adam tried to leave the house after he and his wife died is different. Additional Scenes:
There is another scene where Lydia creates pictures of Adam and Barbra. Then, after her mother yells at her and scolds her for cutting holes in her sheets, Lydia runs upstairs and tries to convince her father that the pictures are real. There are even more scenes of the adults searching for ghosts in the attic as we see a desert monster trying to eat Adam and Barbra as they hang out the attic window. Finally, there is an additional 2-minute scene at the end where we see Lydia riding her bike home from school while her parents are on the phone with Jane saying they don’t want to sell the house. In this version, Lydia’s dancing scene is shorter and there is no scene with Beetlejuice in the waiting room.

The film ends with a final exterior shot of the house. Day-OTraditional, lyrics by William A. Attaway & Irving Burgie [Incorrectly recorded as written by William A. Attaway & Irving Burgie (as Lord Burgess)] Performed by Harry Belafonte of RCA Records. With ghosts and the dead, one would usually expect a horror film full of screams and gory characters. But in Beetlejuice, we see a new dimension of humor experimented with. Considering that the film was made in 1988.
Tim Burton is a true visionary
with limited special effects, Beetlejuice can simply be called “creativity at its best”. and watching this film, one cannot help but appreciate his creativity and his ability to bring it to the screen. The acting is excellent in every way. It is impossible not to admire the young and promising Winona Ryder, a flower ready to bloom. It would take a few viewings to appreciate the film.
