A land grab threatens to destroy a waning dynasty
Synopsis
With no heir apparent to Lawson’s massive cattle station, Australia’s rival factions see an opportunity to seize control. The series was filmed in remote locations in the Northern Territory and South Australia that are sparsely populated, let alone on screen.
The show is filled with amazing talent and the setting is beautiful
Locations include the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park – with special permission from the traditional owners – and Tipperary Station, a real working cattle station with its own airport and school. The story is believable and easy to follow, but the characters are hard to like.
It was so hard to root for anyone
None of them showed any signs of redemption until episode 5. The entire premise of the show is one tragedy after another.
Episode 5 brings some sort of reunion, and then bam
another tragedy. There are only 6 episodes and maybe episode 6 will tie it all together but honestly, I was so depressed after the first 5 episodes that I couldn’t stand it.
There is no balance between hope and despair anymore
It was not a fun watch at all for me. I put it off all the time because I am a fan of some of the actors.
