Synopsis
Mismatched cousins David and Benji reunite for a road trip across Poland in honor of their beloved grandmother. The adventure takes a turn when the odd couple’s old tensions resurface against the backdrop of the story of their real-life ancestors living in the diaspora.
A Real Pain is a wonderful film
Referenced in Amanda the Jedi Show: The BEST and Weirdest Movies You (Mostly) Haven’t Seen Yet | Love Is Bleeding (2024). Jessie Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin give some of the best performances of their careers.
He absolutely nailed both of those feats as well
I definitely believe Culkin will be an Oscar favorite this year. Eisenberg also wrote and directed the screenplay for this film.
This film has a consistently intriguing, emotional, and funny script
The film deals with some heavy themes and handles them all with great taste. This is a film that clearly meant something to everyone who made it, and I think you can see that in the final product.
